CREATING CONNECTIONS, IGNITING HOPE
AND CHANGING LIVES
Bridging the Gap between the communities within the Valley of 1000 Hills and their more affluent neighbours.
As KZN citizens, perhaps now more than ever before, we have an opportunity to change the trajectory of our province
One job changes up to 5 lives.
The ave. home in our valley has +5 inhabitants and lives off a grant:R370/month.
Homes with 1 employed inhabitant live off an average of R4500/month.
Employment lowers a woman’s probability of having more than 2 children.
Employed men are significantly more likely to avoid criminal activity.

VALLEY SCHOOL IMPACT PROGRAM
There are many NPO’s working in the schools within our Valley of 1000 Hills. We facilitate bi-annual meetings with these NPO’s that we are connected to within the Upper Highway area – this enables us all to share information, to accurately understand current needs within both our Valley schools and learners lives, to become aware of gaps and to avoid overlaps.
RESTORING DIGNITY
Pass the Panties is our project focused on the school girls of our Valley. We manufacture and distribute free underwear and use this as the entry point into schools, where we then facilitate talks at each school in our Valley. Topics include: Period education & Personal dignity.
CONNECTING THE UNEMPLOYED WITH JOBS
We at Bridging Gaps offer FREE RECRUITMENT to those in our valley. We have a large database of unemployed individuals from our Valley, all of whom go through training with us and are eager to be employed. Those on the database are interviewed personally and categorized. From there on we rely on YOU, local businesses and homes, in the Upper Highway to contact us and allow us to connect you with entry-level employees, interns and learnership candidates.
